The Ramblings of Octavo

Welcome to my new home here on dargo.info! Ibis and I finally got tired of not having enough control over our own blogs, so we took the plunge and bought some hosting! YAY!

First off I bet you’re wondering why we chose dargo.info… well, we wanted something short, but easy remember. Something that even the illiterate would be able to type into a browser. Of course, most short, easy to remember domain’s have already been taken. We spent quite a while going through the planets, names of stars (pollox.info is available if anyone wants it), names of greek and roman gods and eventually I threw in dargo. Of course, Dargo (or Ka’Dargo) is actually a character from the sci-fi series Farscape, but it’s easy to say and easy to remember… so here we are!

I promise, I’m not moving again! This is the new home of my blog for at least the next 12 months!! So, update your feeds and bookmarks now! I hope you enjoy my new home as much as I am… oh and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

I’m still going to be running a wordpress blog, but Ibis and I have bought some hosting together, so we can do our own thing and add all the plugins we want and have some REAL control over our blogs!

Thank you very much to everyone who wished me a happy birthday - I appreciate the kind thoughts!

I had one of the best birthdays evar!!!!!!!!!1111!!one - it was w00t! My dearest Ibis got me the coolest car mp3 frontloader (my previous one was stolen)! It’s not only a CD/Mp3 frontloader - it also has a USB port on the face and a SD/MMC slot too for all your latest tech goodness! Mwahahahha! Her parents contributed some cash towards a new set of rear speakers (they stole those too) and I snagged a pair of 260W pioneers, which was a total bargain! My parentals got me a super-snazy headset which I’ve been asking for (so I can indulge in some Skype & gaming goodness) and Zodan got me SW:KOTOR. All in all it was pretty uber and I’m still a few pressies short, so we’ll see what else comes my way in the next few days!!

Saturday morning was spent buying and installing the sound system, then it was off to my folks for my dad’s speciallity - Weber cooked chicken. A lesiuirely lunch timed perfectly to allow Ibis and I to catch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, after which we retired to Starlight Diner. Starlight is pretty awesome - it’s open 24 hours and serves some really excellent food and great cocktails. Anyway, we got suitably drunk and then soaked it all up with a big meal before heading for home with the tunes pumping!

Anyways in all I had a really great weekend - I spent it with my dearest and thats all I could ever wish for…

Slipping up? me? Never!

Your truly is back with the best damn prose you’ll read anywhere in the blogosphere! Me, have a vanity problem? Are you nuts? Getting sick of rhetorical questions yet? I hope so!

As previously mentioned, there is way too much happening at the moment — I suppose December does that to a person. So here’s the latest news:

I’ll be 25 next week. I’ll refrain from the usual “man, I’m getting old” schtick, but that doesn’t mean I’m not thinking it. I’ve got a bit of free-lance work which should keep me out of trouble this holiday (and hopefully add a bit of weight to my pocket too). Looking forward to christmas and new years and finishing up here at work!

Expect updates to be few and far between as christmas draws ever closer!! In fact this will probably be my last post this year… we’ll see…
